Western Canada Splendour
Springtime in the Rockies, stampede departure, summertime fun
DAY 1: Toronto to West Branch, MI
Good morning and welcome aboard our
motor coach today as we travel via Sarnia
to cross the border into Michigan. We
pass through the Bavarian community
of Frankenmuth enroute to West Branch
for our first night together. This evening a
“getting aquainted” Dinner. (D)
DAY 2: Marquette, Michigan
Our departure this morning takes us
northward crossing the Mackinac Bridge
over the Straits of Mackinac which connect
Lake Huron and Michigan. Then westward
through Hiawatha National Forest to
Marquette for overnight. (B)
DAY 3: Grand Forks, North Dakota
Today we travel through the State of
Wisconsin to the port city of Duluth,
Minnesota at the western end of Lake
Superior. Then across the State of
Minnesota, land of the legendary Paul
Bunyan, to Grand Forks, North Dakota. (B)
DAY 4: Regina, Saskatchewan
This morning we journey westward across
North Dakota, then cross the border into
Canada. Continue across the prairie to
Saskatchewan’s provincial capital, Regina,
home of the training headquarters for the
Royal Canadian Mounted Police. (B)
DAY 5: Calgary, Alberta
Westward on the Trans Canada Highway
via Swift Current, Medicine Hat, and on into
Calgary, home of the world famous Calgary
Stampede. Although Calgary is known as
“Cowtown”, it also focuses on the oil and
gas industries. (B,D)
DAY 6: Calgary, Alberta
Today is yours to enjoy Calgary and the
activities that are happening in the city.
We have included a visit to the Heritage
Park, allowing you to learn more about the
western settlers. (B)

DAY 7: Banff, Alberta
Continue westward on the Trans Canada
Highway into the Foothills of the Rockies
and on to Banff. We visit Bow Falls, Cascade
Rock Gardens and Tunnel Mountain, named
for the 900 foot tunnel that the CPR planned
to build through the mountain before they
discovered an easier way around. Even
though the Tunnel was never built, the
name remained and Tunnel Mountain Drive
provides the most scenic entry to BANFF.
We also visit the Sulphur Hot Springs. (B)
DAY 8: Revelstoke/Three Valley Gap,
British Columbia
Today we travel to beautiful Lake Louise, in
a hanging valley at an altitude of 5,680 feet.
Today we see spectacular Rocky Mountain
scenery as we leave Banff National Park,
through Kicking Horse Pass and across the
Continental Divide to Yo Ho National Park.
Then through Glacier National Park, on one
of the world’s most beautiful roads, enroute
to Revelstoke. We cross the Columbia River
before arriving at Three Valley Gap. Join us
for a B.B.Q. Dinner. (B,D)
DAY 9: Merritt, British Columbia
Our departure this morning takes us to
view where “The Last Spike” was driven to
complete Canada’s first Trans Continental
Railroad. Then into the Okanagan Valley,
along the shores of Okanagan Lake to
Kelowna, the centre of a fruit, vegetable
and vineyard region. One-third of all apples
harvested in Canada are shipped from this
city. Tonight we stay in Merritt. (B)
DAY 10: Victoria, British Columbia
We travel through the Fraser Valley,
following the mighty Fraser River to Boston
Bar. Our noon luncheon today is at Hell’s
Gate. Time to view the salmon fish ladders
as we descend on the Air Tram to the banks
of the Fraser. Continue this afternoon
via Hope to Tsawwassen to board the

DAY 11: Victoria, British Columbia
This morning we have a city tour of
beautiful Victoria, a bit of Olde England at
the southern tip of Vancouver Island. We
see Beacon Hill Park, University of Victoria,
and the Parliament Buildings. Then we visit
the world renowned Butchart Gardens with
its many acres of fragrant floral beauty
extending over Japanese, Italian and
English gardens. (B)
