DAY 1: Toronto to Halifax, Nova Scotia
This morning an airline flight from your
gateway city to Halifax. Upon arrival you will
be met and transferred to our downtown
Halifax hotel for a three night stay!
DAY 2: Halifax, Nova Scotia
After breakfast, we take you on a tour
of Halifax. You’ll learn of the Halifax
Explosion and other significant events of
the city’s history. The afternoon is at leisure
to discover more about this important
Maritime city. (B)
DAY 3: Halifax, Nova Scotia
This morning we visit famous Peggy’s Cove
and enjoy Breakfast facing the Lighthouse.
Then a visit to the Fisheries Museum in
Lunenburg, where we come face to face
with the culture of Atlantic Canada, before
returning to Halifax. (B)
DAY 4: Sydney, Nova Scotia
Leaving Halifax after breakfast, we travel to
Cape Breton Island via the Canso Causeway.
First we visit the Fortress of Louisbourg. Here
a local guide takes us back in time to the year
1744 for a tour of one of Canada’s largest
national historic sites. We check into our
hotel in Sydney for two nights. (B,D)
DAY 5: Cape Breton Island, Nova
Scotia
Today we enjoy the famous scenic Cabot
Trail on Cape Breton Island, with picture
stops and a picnic Lunch enroute. (B,L)
DAY 6: Charlottetown, P.E.I.
Cape Breton Island was the summer home
of Alexander Graham Bell. This morning
we include a visit to the Museum that
honours this famous inventor. Here you
will also discover why he fell in love with
Cape Breton. Later we travel to Caribou and
board our ferry to Wood Islands to cruise
across the Northumberland Strait to P.E.I.,
the traditional way of travel to and from
the Island. This evening we have included
another amazing Lobster Dinner, where you
can again practice your new methods to
break apart this great meal! (B,D)
DAY 7: Charlottetown, P.E.I.
Today we tour Prince Edward Island with
its’ quaint fishing villages, Cavendish, the
home of Anne of Green Gables and Anne’s
Museum. This afternoon and evening are
free for you to explore Charlottetown on
your own. (B)
DAY 8: Home
This morning we first leave P.E.I. via the
Confederation Bridge. Spanning a length
of over 12 km this bridge is truly an
amazing engineering marvel. All too soon
our Maritime experience comes to an end,
as you board your flight in Moncton, NB to
return home. (B)
