Explore the Canadian Rockies
Fly to Calgary and home from Edmonton
DAY 1: Calgary, Alberta
From your departure city you will board an
airflight to Calgary. Upon arrival in Calgary,
we transfer to our Calgary hotel and meet
your fellow travelling companions and tour
director at dinner tonight. (D)
DAY 2: Calgary, Alberta
Today is yours to enjoy Calgary and the
activities that are happening in the city. We
have included a visit to the Heritage Park
allowing you to learn more about western
settlers. (B)
DAY 3: Banff, Alberta
Travel westward on the Trans Canada
Highway into the Foothills of the Rockies.
On to Banff to visit the Bow Falls, Cascade
Rock Gardens, Tunnel Mountain and
Sulphur Hot Springs. (B)
DAY 4: Three Valley Gap, B.C.
Today we travel to beautiful Lake Louise, in
a hanging valley at an altitude of 5,680 feet.
Today we see spectacular Rocky Mountain
scenery as we leave Banff National Park,
through Kicking Horse Pass and across the
Continental Divide to Yo Ho National Park.
Then through Glacier National Park, on one
of the world’s most beautiful roads enroute
to Revelstoke. We cross the Columbia River
before arriving at Three Valley Gap. Join us
for a Western-style barbecue. (B,D)
DAY 5: Merritt, British Columbia
Our departure this morning takes us to
view where “The Last Spike” was driven to
complete Canada’s first Trans Continental
Railroad. Then into the Okanagan Valley,
along the shores of Okanagan Lake to
Kelowna. Tonight we stay in Merritt. (B)
DAY 6: Victoria, British Columbia
We travel through the Fraser Valley,
following the mighty Fraser River to Boston
Bar. Our noon luncheon today is at Hell’s
Gate. Time to view the salmon fish ladders
as we descend on the Air Tram to the banks
of the Fraser. Continue this afternoon via
Hope to Tsawwassen to board the B.C. Ferry
to Vancouver Island, the capital of British
Columbia. Overnight accommodations are
in Victoria for two nights. (B,L)
DAY 7: Victoria, British Columbia
This morning we have a city tour of
beautiful Victoria, a bit of Olde England at
the southern tip of Vancouver Island. We
see Beacon Hill Park, University of Victoria,
and the Parliament Buildings. Then we
visit the world renowned Butchart Gardens
with its many acres of fragrant floral beauty
extending over Japanese, Italian and
English gardens. (B)
Quality Tours You Deserve
DAY 8: Vancouver, British Columbia
We depart Victoria today and travel to
Chemainus to see the Festival of Murals,
a collection of oversized professional
paintings, on the walls of the downtown
buildings, which portray the history of the
Chemainus Valley. Then to Nanaimo to
board the B.C. Ferry to Horseshoe Bay. This
afternoon we tour the beautiful west coast
city of Vancouver including such sights
as Stanley Park, Chinatown, Gastown and
Queen Elizabeth Park. Tonight will be spent
in Vancouver and dinner is included. (B,D)
DAY 9: Whistler, British Columbia
This morning will be free for you to further
explore the city of Vancouver on your
own. Mid afternoon we will depart from
Vancouver and travel along the beautiful
Howe Sound through the logging town of
Squamish enroute to Whistler, a popular allyear
resort village, cradled by Whistler and
Blackcomb Mountains. Time this evening
for you to further explore this famous resort
village. (B)
DAY 10: Kamloops, B.C.
Our drive today, will take us past
snowcapped mountains, Anderson Lake,
and Seton Lake enroute to Lillooet. After
lunch we travel along the Caribou Highway
and the Fraser River to Cache Creek. Once
a gold-rush crossroads, Cache Creek is in
semi-desert country north of the big bend of
the Thompson River. Continue to Kamloops
for overnight. (B,L)
DAY 11: Valemount, Alberta
Our departure from Kamloops this morning
takes us north via the Yellowhead Highway
via Clearwater. This evening we stay in the
mountain town of Valemount. (B)
DAY 12: Rocky Mountain House,
Alberta
Today we travel through the Columbia
Mountains and stop to view Mount Terry
Fox and Mount Robson, the highest peak
in the Canadian Rockies. Time to explore
Jasper, then a visit to Athabasca Falls
enroute to the Famous Columbia Icefields.
Here we have a Snocoach Ride on the
Athabasca Glacier. Then to Rocky Mountain
House. (B)
DAY 13: Edmonton, Alberta
We travel the David Thompson Highway
from Rocky Mountain House to Red
Deer enroute to Edmonton, Alberta’s
provincial capital. Balance of the day is
yours to explore the world famous West
Edmonton Mall housing hundreds of
shops, live musical exhibitions, and more.
This evening a farewell dinner to share
memories of the tour. (B,D)
